Family run electrical retailer provides 40 years of great customer service

October 21st, 2009

Langney Domestic Appliances, a family run leading independent electrical retailer in Eastbourne, is celebrating 40 years of trading.

The company was started by Ted Kerrell and wife, Maureen with just £240 after Ted left Hoover in 1968. Amazingly they recorded a turnover of £16,000 in the first year. Langney Domestics has not looked back since.

The company stocks a huge range of both built-in and free-standing electrical appliances, from cookers to washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, fridge-freezers, microwaves, vacuum cleaners and electric fires.

All products are in stock at the company’s warehouse and are available for immediate delivery. Anything that is not in stock can be ordered specially for you.

Langney Domestics is a member of Euronics, Europe’s largest independent electrical buying group, and can offer customers fantastic competitive prices, coupled with prices you can really trust.

Langney Domestics also has a call out service. Their engineers (amongst them the son of the owner) will either repair or service your equipment in your own home, and with the highest levels of service.

Products from leading manufacturers are in stock including, Bosch, AEG, Beko, Belling, Canon, Creda Dimplex, Electrolux, Frigidaire, Hoover, Hotpoint, Indesit, Lex, LG, Miele, New World, Panasonic, Parkinson, Cowan, SEBO, Servis, Sharp, Siemens, Stoves, Tricity Bendix, Whirlpool, Zanussi.

The couple’s son Tim, who joined the company 29 year ago, is one of the top four engineers in the country. He said, “Our business is built on service and price. We care about our customers and offer full after-sales service, from delivery to installation, servicing and repairs.”

Langney Domestics became a true family business with the return of Mr Kerrell’s daughter, Lesley to the business eight years ago. Having begun a career in advertising and media at the Eastbourne Gazette and Herald, Lesley moved to London where she worked at the Evening Standard, The Observer and lately at Capital Radio. After taking a break to have two children, Lesley moved back to Sussex to join the family business.

Having been established in Eastbourne for 40 years Langney Domestic Appliances has seen many other domestic appliance specialists come and go – a testament to the company’s quality of customer service.

If you’re looking for superstore prices along with friendly personal service and real knowledge of the products, then there is no better choice than Langney Domestic Appliances.

Commenting on Langney Domestic Appliance’s 40th anniversary, Ted Kerrell said, “Our customers and our staff are Langney Domestics. We are extremely proud of them and forget that we all need each other.”
