The Benefits of Owning an Air Purifier

October 31st, 2009

If you watch television, listen to the radio, or surf the internet, there is a good chance that you have heard of air purifiers before. Air purifiers are electronic machines that work to make indoor air healthier. This is done by trapping harmful air particles in the filters or collection grids. Essentially, this means that your air will not only be healthier, but easier to breathe.

Despite the fact that you know what an air purifier is and what it does, do you know the benefits of owning or using one? If you do not currently own an air purifier, also commonly known as an air filter purifier, there is a good chance that you will want one, after examining the profit of using one. That is right, air purifiers are that good.

As mentioned above, air purifiers work to eliminate dangerous or unhealthy contaminants from the air. Doing this makes the air indoor fresh. This is great for young children, the elderly, as well as those with allergies. When breathing cleaner air, your health is likely to improve. There is a good chance that you may find yourself getting ill less often.

In addition to getting ill less often, it has been said that the air we breathe has an impact on our emotions and wellbeing. Therefore, this means that breathing cleaner air, thanks to an air purifier, healthy is one of the benefit, and you may also enjoy life a little bit more. Each of those makes and models costs a certain amount of money. This means that, with a little bit of research, you should be able to find at least one air purifier that is within your price range.

Air Purifiers Review – 5 Key Factors Model

September 10th, 2009

Previously we had 4 key factors but now it is the 5 Key Factors Model. With reference to our last post, we have now added Scientific Peer Review as the fifth key factor in our air purifier review model.

Our research indicates that the lack of scientific peer reviews is a major stumbling block to all the interested parties in accepting the claims of air purifier manufacturers, no matter how reputable the latter may be. host of interested parties]|legion of interested parties who] would love to have the issue resolved once and for all. These parties include the scientific community i.e. indoor air quality scientists, environmentalists, government agencies like the US EPA, NIOSH or Canada Health, and many in the medical community who deal with allergies, asthma and other respiratory issues .

It is very critical to note that this problem is not restricted only to the ionic air purifier industry. It also plagues all other technologies in the air purifier industry, be it the well-regarded HEPA and the new-kid-on-the-block (relatively speaking) photo-catalytic oxidation, etc.

It almost seems that, as a basic fundamental of any air purifier review, the scientific peer review is almost like the holy grail of the air purifier industry. Whoever crosses the post first may well have the same legendary power of control in the multimillion dollar business.

Given the extreme (no exaggeration here!) importance of a scientific peer review, the biggest mystery is why no one has deemed it worthwhile to produce a single review. It is comprehensible that no air purifier manufacturer has ordained one since that would void the independence factor that is central to a scientific peer review.

What is unfathomable is why no scientist or researcher, notably those in the indoor air quality or environmental sciences disciplines who would seem the most proficient to do an air purifier review, considers it worthwhile to do. Air purification technology can be said to be harbingers of nanotechnology. Yet it seems so antiquated that no one deems it worth their while to spend time on a scientific peer review. Lack of initial funding is also not an issue. We know for a fact that the US NIOSH will fund a skillfully drafted scientific peer review.

Interestingly, no researcher or scientist seems willing to take on a scientific peer review. This begs the million dollar question. Is the air purification industry simply science fiction and nothing else? Or do scientists view it a futile task akin to seeking the Holy Grail – truth beyond reach? Undeniably, we have difficulty even finding a single comprehensive objective air purifier review.

These highly riveting thoughts drive us to greater enquiry with our 5-Key Factors Model. Our despatch, to several air purifier manufacturers, of a detailed survey based on our model met with muted response. But this only encourages us to delve deeper.

To recap, the Air Purifier Review – 5 Key Factors Model is as detailed:

(1) Safety – in relation to the reactive agent

(2) Safety – in relation to unintended by-products

(3) Efficacy – the reactive agents work in the lab

(4) Efficiency – the reactive agents work in the real world

(5) Scientific Peer Review.

Each factor of our air purifier review model has been described fully in separate Ezine articles which you can access via the widget on our blog. Many thousands of our readers have also published our Ezine write-ups on their own blogs for their own subscriber base. If you have not read or published the full collection of 5 factors, you are welcomed to do so.
